Welcome to the 40th annual Victoria Classic Boat Festival. It is a privilege to once again be involved as the presenting sponsor of this great event. Canoe Cove Marina and Boatyard have been a part of the recreational and commercial boating community for almost one hundred years and are proud of our history beginning in the early 1900’s.
For those of you that have read The Curve Of Time by Wylie Blanchett, you may know that her little raised deck cruiser Caprice was berthed next door at Curtis Point and that the then owner of what would become Canoe Cove Marina, Mr. Hugh Rodd helped Wylie with her maintenance on Caprice.
Canoe Cove is a unique marine village at the north end of the Saanich Peninsula where visitors are encouraged! With Canoe Cove Coffee Shop and the Stonehouse Restaurant (built in Mr. Rodd’s house) as gathering places, the Cove is a natural setting to meet old friends and new.
Our marina and yard are open to all who love boats! We have gathered a great group of marine professionals ready and able to take on regular maintenance right up to the most complex projects on the classics to the very modern. We welcome do it yourselfer’s to come and be part of the community, take advantage of the expertise, enthusiasm and general good attitude around the entire facility.
So thanks for joining us! We are glad you are here to enjoy one of the great maritime festivals on the west coast. We know your life will be richer having spent time in Victoria’s spectacular inner harbour just messing about in boats…
