Paul Gartside

boat yard in Truro, Cornwall which
built traditional plank-on-frame

of 16, he was building a 24 foot
Atkin schooner. After school he
studied naval architecture in Southampton
and worked with the McGruer yard
in Scotland.
In 1982 the family sold the yard
in Cornwall and moved en masse
to Canada. Since then Paul has
worked primarily has a naval architect,
designing a wide variety of wooden
yachts and has also built a number
of custom and spec boats. Paul
is a member of the Royal Institute
